Or should I start over with a different approach? Does the strategy with "waiting off" does work here? Should I focus on defence, while Paragon NPC armies will take care of AI opponents? I'm pretty sure AI opponents are doing just fine, they don't seem to be taking that much damage from NPC attacks (hard to tell without vision, probably will need to work on map covert ops). The NPC armies are starting to become troublesome. So far I've defeated Jack Gelder and I'm attacking Amazons, but now I'm left with 6 opponents encircling me and I don't think I will be able to protect myself and conquer opponents at the same time. The last one is probably soon too follow, plus one of his armies got "stuck" because I've taken over a colony which he was aiming for. Around turn 50 I have only one ally left, because stupid AI, even though they had strong armies, left their capitals protected with a small army (ofc with their main hero in it) and were obliterated (I wonder how it is so that when I attack AI their main armies are usually close to the capital). I'm currently playing Kir'ko Carmina route, but things are looking grim for me. What is you're general strategy for this map? Try to start with as many allies as possible? Wait for good rng with starting positions? I'm not sure if it's actually possible to get all of the races to go in the same direction, but I'm pretty sure you can (for instance) get four races to side with Carminia, play one of the remainder yourself, and get the last to go independent, so the finale ends up being 8v3v1. It'd probably require replaying a lot of the campaign, but one other thing you can do is try to 'stack the deck' by having as many races as possible pick the side you're going to take - particularly important if you want to try the independence option. If you've sided with Carminia, she's going to be regularly doing something about as bad to your opponents, as you've hopefully already noticed, so the name of the game is outlasting your opponents. I think they're not supposed to spawn in sectors you own, but if there are any empty sectors, those are fair game.īroadly speaking, I think the idea is that you do need to commit substantial forces to your own defence rather than going all in on anybody (unless, of course, you side with CORE).
